Rose essential oil is extracted from the petals of the Damask rose (Rosa damascena). Its scent is sweet, complex and deeply floral — the smell of fresh roses. In Ayurveda the rose (Shatapatri) is described as sheeta (cooling) and Pitta-pacifying; it is the flower behind gulab jal and gulkand.
Ayurveda holds that fragrance — gandha — touches the mind, and that different scents bring different doshas back into balance.

Rose Essential Oil in Amore
Rose essential oil is part of three Amore solid perfumes — The Divine Bloom, The Royal Muse and The Signature Aura. Applied on the wrists and the side of the neck, where the skin is warm, the scent of rose opens slowly through the day. In Ayurvedic tradition, Shatapatri is a cooling flower that soothes Pitta, which is why rose has long been worn in Indian summers.
