CANDLE CARE
A better burn begins with a little care.
Each wick behaves differently. Follow the guidance for the wick in your candle rather than treating every candle the same.
For wooden wicks
Before relighting, let the wax cool completely and remove the spent char from the top of the wick. Keep the exposed wick short and clear of excess carbon so the flame can stay steady.
For cotton wicks
Trim the wick before each burn, leaving a short, even tip. A clean wick helps keep the flame controlled and reduces unnecessary soot.
First burn matters
Allow the first burn to create an even melt pool across the usable surface of the wax. Avoid very short burns that leave a deep ring of unmelted wax around the vessel.
Burn safely
Keep the candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts and anything that can catch fire. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
When to stop
Do not burn a candle all the way to the bottom of the vessel. Leave a small layer of wax so the container does not overheat.
