The candle you can hear
Most scented candles in India are named after somewhere else. Tuscan Vanilla. French Lavender. English Pear. We could not work out why a country with this much to smell was importing its fragrance vocabulary.
So Amore's ten candles are named for places here. Madurai Jasmine is the flower market before dawn. Puri Temple Air is naag champa in the stone of a courtyard. Bay of Bengal Breeze is salt air with jasmine carried in on it. Ganga Aarti is the smoke that sits over the water after the evening lamps go up.
Wooden wicks
We use wooden wicks rather than cotton. They crackle. It is a small thing that changes how a room feels — the difference between a candle you look at and one you notice with your eyes shut.
Made to order, in our own workshop
Nothing is mass-poured and stacked. Your candle is made after you order it: wax weighed, fragrance blended to our own ratios, poured by hand, then left to cure before it is boxed. That is why it takes a few days, and it is the reason Palace Nights smells like four things arriving in order rather than one thing all at once.
What we will not do
We will not invent heritage. There is no ancient recipe behind these candles and no tradition we are reviving. There is a set of places, a set of fragrances built to match them, and a wick that crackles. That is the whole claim.
