let the sand flow into any suitable container you love: a bowl, diya, glass or urli. Your vessel, your shape.

Place
press the wick gently into the centre of the sand, leaving a 1/4 inch (about 6mm) tip visible above the surface.

Light
bring a flame to the wick and enjoy your candle as the sand turns into a soft, steady glow. Keep it on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from draughts, and never leave it unattended.

Begin again
relight the wick, or replace it with a fresh one, to refresh your candle. The same sand, a new evening.
